Race to the final - Golf con Corazon, 29.10.-03.11.2017, Minkner & Partner sponsors yet again
For many years, Minkner & Partner has been supporting the non-profit organization AMADIP, a charitable organisation for parents of children with cancer. AMADIP is hosting the "race-to-the-final" series, which will be held this year from 29.10. - 03.11.2017 on various golf courses on Mallorca (see events and tips below). Once again, Minkner & Partner is a sponsor.
26th -29th October2017, “minimal service” at Minkner& Partner due to a “company trip”
From 26.10. - 29.10.2017 Minkner & Partner’ four offices i.e. Santa Ponsa, Pto Andratx, Palma and Llucmayor will be open for minimal service only: The management Edith and Lutz Minkner as well as Marvin Bonitz have invited the whole team on a four-day trip on the AIDA to Barcelona and Valencia following a high and very successful turnover. This will not be a trip for viewing properties, but a four-day cultural trip involving lots of, fun, eating, drinking and relaxation. |

2. Mallorca – Construction/Investment; Economy; Finance; Law and Taxes
(1) Construction / Investment
Calvia: 3 million euro for renovations towards the promenades in Santa Ponsa and Palmanova
Calvia town hall has provided 3 million euros for the renovation of the promenades in Santa Ponsa, Palmanova and Torrenova. This amount is to be used to replace paving, lowering the kerbs and improving lighting. In addition, a playground and various parking spaces are to be renovated.
Llucmayor and Manacor: The environmental ministry approves two large solar parks
We have already reported several times on two solar park projects - one on the Finca S`Aguila in Llucmajor on 50 hectares of land and one on the Finca Santa Cirga in Manacor on 56 hectares of land - which the Balearic Ministry of the Environment wanted to refuse approval. After years of delays, the Ministry of the Environment has re-thought its position and has now agreed to the projects "to increase the share of renewable energies in the Balearic Islands". Why not before? The consent of the island council still needs to be obtained.
Palmas: The new 5 Star- Hotel „Es Princep“ is due to be completed at the end of the year be ready
A new 5-star hotel "Es Princep" close to Palma's city wall Baluard del Princep, is due to be completed by the end of 2017. The construction work, which began three years ago, had been suspended due to archaeological discoveries, when the remains of an earlier tannery were found. The new hotel will have 70 rooms. The investment is stated at 3.5 million euros - Es Princep, Carrer Bala Roja, 1, 07001 Palma.
Palma: Hostal Baleares converted to a 4 Star- Hotel
The Hostal Baleares located in the Plaza de las Columnas, in the Pere Garau district of Palma, was one of the most important hostels in the 60s. It closed 30 years ago and will now be converted to a 4-star hotel by an international group of investors. The new boutique hotel will have over 50 rooms. Construction is expected to take 16 months, and the investment is quoted as 3 million euros.
Tourism I. Bankcruptcy of the British airline Monarch
As a result of the bankruptcy of the British airline and tour operator Monarch, in October 2017, 400 flights with 40,000 passengers have been cancelled. Since Monarch is also a tour operator, hotels in Mallorca are also expecting losses of € 10 million, which include payments for the last three months. Especially affected are hotels in the areas of Palmanova / Magaluf and Pollenca / Alcudia.
Tourism II: In 2018 Alltours, is intending to bring over 1 million tourists to Spain
For the summer season 2018 Alltours is aiming to bring over 1 million tourists to Spain. The tour operator owns 26 hotels in Mallorca, which are managed by the company Allsun. In addition, several other hotels will be exclusively marketed by Allsun. For the coming summer season 2018, 34 new hotels are being contracted. (2) Economy

Tourist tax: Tax authorities are investigating 1.200 holiday rentals
Around 30 real estate agencies dealing with vacation rentals were visited by tax inspectors in the last couple of days, in order to check whether the tourist tax was collected and paid for by those apartments and houses offering vacation rental. A further 1,200 vacation rentals have been identified, the majority of whom have not collected and paid the tourist tax. In addition to the payment of the tax a fine of € 400 per apartment will be applied. |

3. Galería de Arte Minkner
The Lightness of the Stone "- The Sculptor Norbert Jäger
Egyptians, Greeks and Romans brought sculpture to great heights by sculpting gods and heroes from huge blocks of basalt, granite, and marble that would last for eternity. Armed with the knowledge of their sculptor colleagues of thousands of years earlier, the avant-garde sculptors of the twentieth century developed "free works". The sculptor not only left his mark, but became a passionate designer who, in his struggle with the material, gave his ideas free rein. One of the masters of his subject is the sculptor Norbert Jäger, who will be exhibiting his new works at the Galeria de Arte Minkner in Santa Ponsa until the end of October 2017.
Norbert Jäger completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor in Frankfurt and received several awards immediately after completing his training, including the Federal Prize for Sculptors. Consequently, Master's seminars, scholarships and periods of study in the USA, Australia and Greece, as well as individual and group exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Korea, Turkey, USA, followed by lectures of symposia public institutions, companies and private collections at home and abroad were to follow.
With a hammer, chisel and angle grinder, Norbert Jäger tackles the stone blocks some of which are up to 3.50 metres high and several tons in weight. His favourite material is marble, as "it has the most interior life and character", but also the "Santanyi" stone of Mallorca yields to his will, his imagination, his creativity and his creative interpretation. Norbert Jäger creates sculptures with a high respect for the stone in dramatic proportions, breathtaking beauty, simple elegance and gives the viewer "the lightness of the stone" Galeria de Arte Minkner - Avda. 29th October 2017 ‘Hymne a l`amour’ – Hommage to Edith Piaf, culture finca Son Baulo
Anna Haetjens (vocals, recitation) and Sven Selle (piano) are performing a tribute to Edith Piaf at the cultural finca in Son Baulo on 29.10.2017. She was a legend; Edith Piaf was born in 1915 the daughter of a singer at amusement parks and a street acrobat in Paris. "For me singing is an escape, it takes you to another world, she says “I do not stand anymore on the ground anymore," said the 1.47 m singer.
